Answers, without the runaround.

The questions we get asked most, grouped by what you are trying to do. If yours is not here, the team in Nairobi picks up the phone.

Getting started

Usually one working day for your first project. Send us the bill of quantities, the drawings, a quote or whatever the job currently runs on, and we configure the project, load the bill and set up your people and permissions.

No. Most contractors start with one live job and add the rest as they come up for renewal or reach a natural stage break. There is no requirement to bring history across.

We run a session on site with them. The field app is deliberately narrow - photographs, attendance and work done - and works the way WhatsApp does. We stay reachable while it beds in.

An Android or iPhone with a data connection. Uploads queue and send when signal returns, so a weak connection at the back of a plot does not block anyone.

Billing and plans

By the size of contract you take on, using the NCA class you hold: KSh 9,000 a month up to KSh 20M, KSh 25,000 up to KSh 100M, and KSh 60,000 up to KSh 500M. Above that we agree a price with you.

No. Add as many foremen, engineers and office staff as you need on any plan. Charging per head would only discourage you from putting the people doing the work on the system.

Yes. Move up or down as the size of work you take on changes. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, never mid-project.

M-Pesa, bank transfer or card. We invoice monthly. Larger contractors and managed-build clients can ask for terms that suit their cashflow.

No. Plans are billed month to month and you can cancel with 14 days notice. Access runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and you can export your records at any point.

Add record-keeping to your subscription. Send us receipts on WhatsApp and our team captures them against the right cost line, files the paperwork and reconciles the books. KSh 25,000 a month covers up to two active projects and KSh 30,000 up to four; above that we agree a price with you.

Money and payments

Passed on at cost on every plan. We do not add a margin and we do not bury them inside the subscription.

Yes. We connect your own SasaPay account so payments run on your rails and you hold the funds. Setup is a one-off KSh 25,000, waived if you pay annually.

Not unless you ask us to. On a standard subscription, funds move on your own rails. On a managed build, our team processes payments on your behalf and every one is recorded against the job.

Attendance captured on site is priced at each worker's agreed daily rate to produce a run. You review it line by line, approve once, and wages disburse to workers' phones and post to the right cost line.

For homeowners

Yes. Talk to us and we will approach them with you. Most contractors take it up once they see it removes the reporting they are already doing by hand.

Nothing, if your contractor carries the subscription - the reporting comes with their plan. If you would rather we ran the build for you, we charge 6% of each deposit you make rather than a subscription.

Today, we report to you rather than handing you a self-serve login: dated site diary entries and photographs, progress against the programme, deliveries matched to orders, and spending against the agreed bill. A self-serve owner portal is on the roadmap, not live yet - we will not pretend otherwise.

Yes. Tell us who should be on the reporting and we will include them. When the owner portal ships, each of them gets their own read-only login.

Data and security

Access is role-based. You decide who sees costs, who sees photographs, who can approve a payment and who is read-only. Every approval and change carries an audit trail.

At any time, as PDF or CSV. Nothing about your project is locked in here, and that includes after you cancel.

Yes, and we recommend it for anyone who can approve payments.
